I’ve been called “too much” more times than my German Shepherd has side-eyed my emotional spiral—and that’s saying something. Too emotional. Too intense. Too sensitive. Too honest. Too loud. Too everything, apparently. And for a while, I tried to shrink. To soften. To dilute myself into something more palatable—like emotional LaCroix. Just a whisper of feeling. A hint of chaos.

Spoiler: it didn’t work. Turns out, repressing your personality for the comfort of others is a terrible long-term strategy. Especially when your personality is a full-contact sport.

Here’s the thing: “too much” is a lazy label slapped on people who feel deeply, speak boldly, and refuse to apologize for existing in high-definition. It’s not a flaw—it’s a superpower. And if someone can’t handle it? That’s not a you problem. That’s a “they need emotional SPF” problem.

So I stopped shrinking. I started writing. Designing. Oversharing. I built Split Happens as a sanctuary for the emotionally spicy, the neurodivergent, and the gloriously unfiltered. Because we don’t need less feeling—we need fewer people who flinch when we show it.

If you’ve ever been told you’re “too much,” congratulations. You’re probably exactly enough for the people who matter.

Split Happens, but I happen louder!
